DAWN OF NEW ERA INDUSTRIAL FAIR (N.Z., and A.P.A., and Sun.) LONDON, Feb. 21. The Industrial Fair banquet was a representative gathering of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, AgcntsClcnoral and traders’ organisations. Sir .Tames Parr was present. The Prince of Wales sent a message stating he was hopeful that the augury of record exhibits coincided with the dawn of a new era in British trade at Home and abroad.
Sir Philip CiinlifTo-Lister, chairman, said buyers, of 70 countries were attending the Fair. Sir Austen Chamberlain expressed the opinion that tho Fair was a marvellous example of the recuperative powers of British industry, disproving the foolish allegation that the country was decrepit. It was realised that trade was becoming one of the great factors of .world peace. The Hon. L. S. Amcry expressed the opinion that the Fair was a tribute to tho efficiency of British industries, synchronised with the growth of efficiency and production throughout the Empire, providing ihc best basis for the growth of trade inter-relations.
NEW ZEALAND STALL DUKE OF YORK’S PRAISE (Svdr.ey Sun Cables.) LONDON, Feb. 20. Sir Jas. Parr received the Duke of York at the New Zealand stall at the British Industries Exhibition. The stall, which attractively features butter, cheese, honey, wool, mutton and lamb, earned the encomiums of the Duke, who drew attention to tho transparent picture of the interior of a creamery and noted its resemblance to one he visited between Auckland and Rotorua. He congratulated Sir James Parr on the maintenance of tlie popularity of the Dominion’s chifif exports to Britain.
