Two young men, F. Olsson and F. Whitmore, had a narrow escape from drowning when the flat-bottomed boat in which they were in capsized off the Waitara bar as the entrance was being made. They were iu the water an hour and ahalf clinging to the upturned craft, and finally reached shore in an exhausted condition.
