AMATEUR ATHLETICS
At a meeting of the Gisborne Ainntenr Athletic and Haft ids' Club the fr-lloW’ing members wem present: — Messrs P-Fultoti, deputy-chairman", W. Hankcv, W. Jenkins, A. Thorpe, M. McMahon, R. Benson, E. Algie, H. K. SWan, and J. Fraser, hon. secretary. / It was decided to return the Tasi man Fund subscription list to the Borough Council, as from inquiries made it v#as ascertained that all the competitors had lists posted at. their ! places of employment. Miss Mary Ansell and Mr. R. I Morris were admitted as new nicm- ! hers to the club, ! Accounts amounting to £8 5s 4d were passed for payment. The next sports meeting to be conducted by the club will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Childers road reserve. The following is the programme of events: —75 yards ladies’ handicap, 75 yards men’s scratch race, two-mile cycle handicap (second dis- ! tance Innis Cup), two-mile cycle scratch race, 440 yards men’s flat handicap, and novelty event (runner v, greyhound over 100 yards). On Thursday, March 1, the Black and White Cup will be competed for. This is a handicap OVent, and will be run over a distance of 150 yards.
