LABOR LEADER

CHIDES' DIETS IN HIS PARTY LONDON, Dec. 3. The vain egotists of the Labor Party who expose their leaders to ridicule by both Tories and Liberals, are warmly denounced by Mr. Bamsay. MacDonald in a remarkable article published in the Glasgow Labor paper Forward. The Labor leader complains particularly that “after the party in Parliament had formally decided to support the Government Bill appointing a commission to visit India and investigate the whole political situation there, Labor members rose in the House and repudiated the decision of the party. The Tories laughed, and the reporters blunted their pencils by scribbling. The galleries chuckled, and Liberals saw another reason to hope for revival. „ “Appeal was made last Friday m the House by one of our members urging the party to disregard its leaders. Another member on the other side of the House on the same evening said that we should receive most emphatic censure. We have long been tired of the vain discordant egotism that plays for its own hand in spite of democratic decisions urged by the party, The timq has come dpenly to censure it and to appeal to the party throughout the constituencies against it.” Mr. Mae Donald also complains bitterly that'affiliated Labor bodies are 'in the habit of issuing manifestos founded on imperfect knowledge, which mislead and confuse the party. He ends by remarking:— ‘ ‘ Whoever is not going to play with the team both in sunshine and rain had better not Avear its colors.”
