FOURFOLD INCREASE IN BRITISH TAXES

LONDON, Dec. 10. In reply to a question in the Hoppe of Commons by Mr. A. M. Samuel, Conservative, Farnham, the financial secretary to the Treasury stated that tho per capita taxation of Britain had increased from £3 11s 4d in 1914 to £l4 11s 8d in 1927.
