Barry Memorial Shield contest was played on the Kahutia Bowling Club’s green yesterday afternoon. The game between Martin and Prince was keenly contested and was won 'by the former only on the last head. Wootton’s rink was also successful against Roderick, .which leaves Martin and Wootton level with three wins each. Results:— Kyne, Jones, Sim, S. Wootton (sk) 21 v. Jelinek, Keany, Haisman,. Dudfield (sk) 18. Champion singles.—J. J. Martin 16 defeated Atkinson 15. after a keen contest. This concluded the first round to decide the winning and losing sections.
