Arapuni Impasse
Finality has not yot been reached in the negotiations that are being carried out between the Government and Sir W. G. Armstrong-Whitworth, Ltd., the contractors, in regard to the Artipuni power-house impasse. At the request of the Government, the contractors some: time ago submitted figures with relation to the cost of constructing the power-house on the site specified in the contract, these figures are now being checked by the Public Works engineers on the spot. The suggestion which has been made that; the contractors submitted definite proposals to the Government a week ago, it is stated, had no foundation in fact.
