DOMINIONS’ ALOOFNESS
EXPORT AND IMPORT RESTRICTIONS CONVENTION
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.; (Received November 9, 1 p.m.) GENEVA, Nov. 8.
Tho 18 signatories of the League ot Nation’s export and import restrictions convention include Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Denmark and Czecho-Slovakia, Others, including Canada and New Zealand, asked for time for Governmental examination, hut it is certain Canada will not sign and Australia definitely will not do so. The Dominions' aloofness is largely due to the fact that a clause was inserted permitting retrospective observance of restrictions and there is no provision for the right to impose restrictions in the future. The signatories will review their positions at a conference in June.
