Picnicking parties at North Beach, Chi'istchurch, the oilier day were rather worried at times by the antics of p party of foolish youths, anne'd with pearifles (states the Sun). These bright young fellows were having indiscriminate shooting practice, and were not taking muck care of the direction of their shots. Some parties wore startled by the whine of bullets over their heads.
