3LO Melbourne’s recent attempt at world-wide brioadcasting was reported on most promptly by indefatigable wireless neighbors m Japan, who appear to keep a. constant watch on all transmissions, as hardly a month passes without some report being received by SLO Alelbourne from the Land of the Rising Sun. These fetters are written in a most enthusiastic strain, and although not models of scholastic English are quite intelligible and make one wonder at tho industry of their Japanese writers in familiarising themselves with English, which is a most difficult tongue, for foreigners to master. Recently, too, 3LG Alelbourne received from a great Japanese newspaper a special number printed throughout in English as a souvenir of the coronation of the new Japanese Mikado, and m a section dealing with wireless some very interesting details were, given of the Japanese broadcasting stations. Tt is not at all improbable that at some time 3LO Melbourne will take the opportunity of re-broadcasting for the benefit of listeners some of the programmes of JOAK or other Japanese studio, which should help to dispel some of the curious misconceptions popularly held by Westerners as to the quality of music, drama, etc., coming from our neighbors across (•ho.
