PENAL EXILE
FOR MERCHANTS WHO REFUSED TO CUT PRICES ROME, May 28. An executive order fixing a portion of the penal colonies iu the islands off tho Sicilian coast for merchants who refused to reduce prices or who cheat in the price reductions, has been issued by Premier Benito Mussolini. It is the first Government order indicating to what extent tho regime intends to go in the control of tho commercial and industrial life of Italy. When 11 Duco demanded prico CUta recently, many merchants raised their prices in order to be able to effect reductions on the Government ofcler without actually giving the public the benefit of a saving. These offences against the. spirit of the dictator's order wore reported and action classifying such merchants ius criminals resulted.
