STATE LIQUOR ISSUE PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (N.Z., und A.P.A., and Sun.) (Received June 27, 12 noon). CHARLOTTETOWN (Prince Edward Island) June 20. The Conservative Government’s platform, embracing the Government control of the sale of liquor, was defeated at the election which resulted in the return of 24 Liberals and six Conservatives. The Liberals will hold a referendum in July, 1929. [At the last general election, in July 1923, the Conservatives were returned to power with 25 out of 30 seats in the Assembly.]
