LONDON, June 14. Two vears after laying a butcher, Charles'Marshall, a bet <f £OO to £4O against his walking 30 times round the Molcsley golf course in 1" hours, dropping a ball in each hole, a. manufacturer, William Edwards, appeared in court for demanding payment of the bet, with menaces. i Marshall said that a combination of circumstances still prevented the attempt to which there was no timelimit. At the suggestion of the magistrates, the bet was called off, and the pair shook hands.
