"TOO MANY CREAM LORRIES"
"There is room for co-operation among the dairy companies in this district in regard to the simplification of cream transport, Jt is not fair to the dniiy farmer for the present economic waste to continue." These comments were made at the annual smoke concert of the Manawatu A. and P. Association by Mr. W. M. Singleton, director of the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture. ■
"A* many as seven lorries," he proceeded, "are operating in one locality, and the extra cost amounts to a figure that is somewhere near JiliUWO for the district lying between Shannon. Wlingiinui, Ormondville and Taihape. That is too much money to be thrown away with the farmer in his present position, and T believe that ihe representatives of the dairy companies in this district should get together and formulate a scheme whereby only one lorry will work one district."
