SOMETHING LIKE A DEPUTATION. MELBOURNE, June 5. Vermont does not want « sanitary depot established by the Government within half a mile of the town, anil it decided to let the Government kno\. exactly what its views are on the subject. A special tram was chartered, and practically every man. woman, and child of'Vermont and Mitehnm. numbering more than 300, were crowded into it and brought to the city to-day. This deputation—probably the biggest ever seen at a Slate department—called upon the Minister for Health. Mr. Beckett, and the Minister for Works, Mr. Jones, and protested long and vigorously against the establishment of the depot. Overawed by the huge assembly that overflowed Ministers 0 ollhes and corridors, both Ministers promised full investigation before goJlig ahead with the proposal. ________ i- _
