WORK REFUSED
BY MASTERTON "UNEMPLOYED (Per Press Association.) MASTERTON, this day. A meeting of about 100 unemployed last night considered the offer of tho Masterton County Council to provide road improvement work at relief rates of pay. Mr. R. D. Wilson, secretary of the Trades and Labor Council, urged tho men to accept the county's offer. On a separate vote being taken, the married men rejected the acceptance of 12s a day by a small majority, but the single men unanimously rejected the acceptance of work at os % .
A further resolution was passed asking the leader of the Opposition to protest in Parliament against the relief rates of wages.
