Denton, of Denton estate, Morere, who has held the office of assistanl clerk to the Waiapu Couniy Council at Waipiro Bay for some months, has left the Coast, and is spending a few days in Gisborne before proceeding to Wellington. Dr. F. G. Clapp, B.Sc, F.G.S.A., a, leading American oil geologist, who recently investigated the possibilities of oil production in West Australia and New South Wales, and later acted as geologist in chief to Taranaki Oilfields. Ltd., spending some time in this district, has been appointed oil adviser to the Persian Government.

Auckland Zionist Society has received advice by,cable from Dr. Alexander Goldstein", who is at present in Australia, that he will be leaving for New Zealand at the eud of this month and will open his Dominion campaign in Auckland on July b. Dr. Goldstein, who is a member of the General Council ol* the Zionist Organisation, left Jerusalem in January as an envoy to the Jewish communities in India, the Far Fast, the Dutch Indies, Australia and New Zealand. He is one of the leading figures of the world-wide movement for the rebuilding of the Jewish homeland in Palestine.
