MIDNIGHT SPORT BY SEARCHLIGHT
VIUNNA, May C. Vienna has ;i reputation for turn iug night into day, but a project now approaching realisation will add the illusion of sunshine. It is proposed to creel SS highpower searchlights on the Ilolio Warte, a large plateau just outside the city, which is used for football and other spoils. With the aid of these search lights it will be possible lo play football and oilier spoils at midnight, and to hold open-air meetings, gymnastic and military displays. The ground belongs to the First Vienna. Football Club, which declares that the plans are almost completed. The cost, will be between £3OOO and £-1000, which will include the cost of erecting a special transformer station. Swivel bearings will be used to hold the searchlights, so that at the conclusion of any event they can bo used to light the public, on its way home.
