New Zealanders began a match against Northumberland at Newcastle to-day. The attendance was 3000. Winning tho toss, with a perfect wicket and weather, the visitors gave a most sparkling exhibition of batting. Blunt opened witb Dempster, and this pair rattled on 62 for the first wicket in half an hour, the latter hitting one sixer and five fours in his 29.
