STABBED WITH KNIFE
OUTCOME OF QUARREL (Per Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. At the Bluff Police Court Anthony McHale, a seaman on the Cumberland, was committed for trial for inflicting bodily harm upon William Power by striking him with a knife. The evidence showed that the men had been drinking, and during a quarrel the accused seized, ft knife from the table with which he struck Power, A doctor gave evidence that be extracted about half the blade of a table knife from Power's ear. The blade had followed the base of the skull, the facial nerve was severed, and Power suffered partial facial paralysis. The knife missed important vessels and other nerves.
