(Press Association Messages). The annual conference of railway ofiicers at Wellington concluded on Wednesdav. The following ; officers were elected: President, Mr. IStatley, Wellington ; vice-presidents, Messrs. Skinner, Carroll, McAIVon, . and Barnes: executive committee, Messrs. Findlayson, Goodley, MaeUonald, Ootid is, Henderson, Hardie, and Bisch; general treasurer, Mr. Barclay; auditors, Messrs Almgtbn and Polilen. 'the new building scheme was fully discussed, and the conference authorised the committee to proceed with the. proposal, subject to satisfactory financial arrangements being made. During the conference the Railway Board was met and a number of general matters affecting the service discussed.
When the Tamahiuc was sailing for Wellington this afternoon the Pieton police arrested a passenger charged with committing burglary at Girliug's, Ltd,, last night. In addition to money already reported to have been stolen the missing articles were a lady's fur, man's shirt, tic, autl handkerchief and a watch belonging to the manager.
