ROAD TO MOTXJ STILL IMPASSABLE The motor services are again running their ordinary time-tables between Gisborne and other centres. Tile road to Napier is now clear, and the services along the coast route have resumed their ordinary running, while the road to Opotiki, from Motu onwards, is offering no great difficulty.' The big slip in the Matahoura gorge was cleared yesterday, and cars from Napier, arrived m Gisborne last night on schedule tune. ALONG THE COAST. These statements, fortunately, were unfounded. A car, evidently the one referred to by those responsible for the rumors, was .stuck in a stream which the driver attempted to ford, but it has since been extricated, and is being brought to Gisborne to-day, the driver being none the worse for his experience. - ROAD BEYOND' MOTU GOOD. The road between Gisborne and Motu i.s impassable past Otoko, and passengers are now forced to take the train as far as Motuhora. Now the wet weather has set in," it is likely that this arrangement will be continued throughout the winter. Beyond Motu the road is said to be in good order, and the service cars are negotiating it without much trouble. ONLY MINOR SLIPS. In the Cook County several minor slips have come down on the roads, but so far as present information goes only one has blocked traffic. This is ~ii the Mangapoiki road at Waingake, the slip having come down on Monday night. It is expected th'at by to-day "the road will again be open. * The remainder of fhe slips reported were not sufficient In cause a blockage. At Karawa. between Muriwai ami Manutuke,,about hall a mile of road was under water vesterdav. This was caused partly by the high tides backing up the flood waters.
