'MELBOURNE, June 6. When Fiscus took off too far and landed on top of the hurdle in the hurdle race at Flemington yesterday, his rider, P. [voops, who came from. Tasmania with the jumper, had to do a ■circus act to get back into the saddle. Tho horse recovered well, but Roups found himself hanging on to the horse's neck and looking towards its tail. Somehow he managed to get properly aboard his mount, but no" sooner had he done so than Cash King collided with Fiscus and the latter dropped back a bad last.
Lvoops had not got his feet back into ho stirrups, and wisely decided that the sites weie against him and the horse, md pulled up. '
