Success has so far been achieved with the raising <# the sunker Napier dredge C.D.K., until now it is possible to walk on the deck of the front portion of the pontoon, it being a few inches above the water. Another week should see the dredge completely raised. A presentation was made last rjight at the home of Mr. Doyle, To Karaka, to the postmaster, Mr. Henley, who has received notice of his transfer to Wairoa. Mr. R. Newman made the presentation, which consisted of ti handbag for the family, a razor for Mr. Henley, and small gifts for the son and daughter. Expressions of regret were made at the departure of Mr. and Mrs. fTenley from the district, and those present jpijied in wishing them every success and happiness in their new sphere. Mr. Henley suitably responded.
