TWO CHANCES IN ITALY
FASCISM OR PRISON ESCAPED DEPUTY'S STORY (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) PARIS, June 20;. Signor Labriola, who recently made a dramatic escape from Italy, interviewed, told an amazing story of Fascist outrages. Signor Labriola is an ex-Minister of Labor, and was formerly a colleague of Signor Mussolini, but disapproved of the recent Fascist developments. He says the day after the alleged attempt on the life of Signor Mussolini at Bologna, the door of his flat was battered in by lilack Shirts.- Signor Labriola and his son, aged 16, were each put in a corner of the room, covered by revolvers and told they would be shot if they moved. The Black i Shirts then smashed the furniture and china, ripped pictures to shreds, and tore up books. Signor Labriola declares that over 1000 houses were similarly treated. Signor Mussolini refused Signor Labriola a passport, but he escaped. He says a man has only two chances in Italy to-day—Faseism or prison,
