At the matting of the Rotary Club toßay Rotarian William .Eccles was welcomed into membership. Miss R. MacDonald, matron of the Napier Hospital, who has boon on a visitto India, has returned to Napier. When Mr. Bert Grensiibv the wellknown footballer, returned to his homo from the Napier Hospital last week, .be was greeted with the'had news that his father, Mr. E. A. Gronsidc, had suffered a stroke and had been taken to hospital. Amongst the guests at the Rotary luncliequ to-day was Mr. N. Brodriek, late ,Surveyor-(’«enoral, whose return to Gisborne after many years of distinguished public service, was referred to by the president and warmly welcomed by trie members. 1
Sisters Edna White and Grace McDonald have left Auckland for t|re Solomon Islands, where they ni'e to take up work: far the New Zealand Methodist Missionary Society. They are fully qualified nprses, Sister White having received her training in the Auckland Hpspital and also in St, Helens.
