DEMAND FOR WOOL
LONDON MARKET FIRM
HIGHER PRICES LIKELY
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June IS.
The wool market is firm, and since the last auctions there has been considerable business done at prices which sceiji to indicate thevo is no likelihood of any drop in values for some time to come.
The Economist’s wool correspondent says there is proof of the existence of a hunger for wool; in fact, it is suggested that the next London auctions should be held earlier than July f>; the date originally fixed, lie adds that tlie prices at these auctions ore destined to be at least slightly higher than in May, and the firming influence wifi probably come from Continental competition.
