SATURDAY’S GAMES Saturday’s ladies’ matches resulted: Manutuke 2 ‘goals (Miss M. Te Ota 2) beat High School 1 (Miss Wells). Old Girls 6 goals (Misses P. Ilopkinfcon 3, Iv. Ifei 2, B. Allen 1) beat Kin Toa 1 (Miss M. McDonald). HIGH' SCHOOL’S IMPROVEMENT. The High School team,,4hough beaten, showed that they, are a much improved team, running the strong Manutuke team to within a goal, and the school girls were unfortunate in not making a draw of it. Messrs. Ureig andPjesse refereed. OLD GIRLS’ BIG SCORE, Old Girls had no dhficalty in accounting for Iva Toa* as the score of 6—l suggests.? In the second half, with a rearrangement of the team, Kia Toa put up a much better showing' and held their own. Old Girls scored two goals in the first 20 minutes, and had four up at halltime. For the second half of the game, Kia Toa rearranged their team, Mrs. Ryan going from inside right to left-wing arid M iss McDonald baking the bully. This proved effective, Kia Toa scoring a goal, while Old Girls were able to put on only two, Messrs, l’iesse and Cossin we iv the referees, For- (fid Girls, Miss R. Benson, fullback,' let little past her, while Misses I*. Priestly and C. Billiam made sound halves. The whole of the forward Tine combined well. Kia'Toa’s weakness was in the hacks, Mesdames Woods and Algie being, sadly missed in. these positions. Miss M. Nikora played her usual brilliant- game at centre-half, while among the forwards Mrs. Ryan and Miss Steen were the pick.
