(Herald Correspondent.) Mr. F. S. Dyson, district . Public Works engineer, Tauranga, paid a visit tn Opotiki last. week. The Rotorua junior representatives have challenged the Opotiki representatives for the Shalfoon Shield. The game will be played at Opotiki on July 2. There was a. fair attendance, at the annual meeting of Ihe Opotiki MotorCycle Racing Club. In the absence of the president, Mr. 8. M. Jephson presided. The election of officers resulted: Patrons, [Ton. K. S. Williams, M.P., and Mr. G. S. Moody (Mayor); pre- < sident, MV. S. M. Jephson; vicajpresidents, Messrs. A. E. Reece, E. Reece, senr., and 0. Pipe; hon. treasurer, Mr. R. G. Wells; secretary, Mr. P. Clark; committee, Messrs. W. G. Reece, 'F. Turner, T. Burke, T. Webb, and Erie Webb. The secretary is to advise the Gisborne Club that the Onotiki Club intends to apply to the N.Z. A.C.IT. for a permit for Boxing Day. The annual report stated that the club was in aboutthe same financial condition as last year, duo to a- failing off of gate receipts bv £4l. There was a large number of riders at the annual race meeting of the club and the riding was of a high standard. The grass track record for one mile had been broken by W. Herbert, of Auckland, and the rider bad been Presented with a gold medal in recognition of bis performance.
