BIG RUSH FOR WORK
MELBOURNE, May 25.
There were extraordinary scenes at the Government Labor Bureau at th'e corner of King and Bourkb streets to■dav,,when several thousand unemployed men attempted to register for the work promised by the Premier, Mr. Tioga a. Twelve hgnilred men were waiting when the s bureau opened at U-a.m., and a stream of men poured in all day. Neither the building nor the staff was sufficient'' to cope with the business. At the Trades Hall another big batch of men assembled. They .were jubilant at the prospect of work as the result of Cabinet’s plans.
