“SPIRITS SEEN”
MIRACLE CHURCH LONDON, Alay 2. Fervent scenes marked the dedication of the now Spiritualist Aliraele Church at Southwark Bridge road. Numbers claimed they saw spirits in the forms of jewelled crosses, and that they heard ghostly voices. The congregation, crowded the building, and bowed before the altar.
Father Mills, a former Roman Catholic priest, consecrated the building and sprinkled holy water, with the lranch of a pine tree. The chorists, in blue hoods, led the singing in a dim, suffused Uglily and a white-robed figure, wearing, sandals, was stated to have been seen kneeling before the altar. ■
Spirit roses of red and white were flung about, but they were visible only to the eyes of those with mediumistic perceptions.
Sir Arthur Conan Dolve said that many of the great men would not declare themselves to tho Spiritualists for fear of endangering their careers.
