New Zealand’s fame as a successful flax-growing country has spread to Argentina. An order has been placed in Auckland by some growers in Argentina for a quantity of milling machinery. The work is being carried out by McLeod and Grundy, engineers, of Onehunga. The machinery, which will cost about £7OO, is all being constructed at the Oneliunga workshops. Professor Masso, head of the textile department of the Madrid University, inspected New Zealand flax-growing centres recently, on behalf of the Argentine growers, and it- was through him tho order was placed.
