VIOLENT ATTACK
ON BISHOP OF LONDON "DISLOYAL DOCTRINES" (Australian and N.Z., Cable Association.! ( Received May 12-, 10 a.m.) j LONDON-, May 11. The Bishop of London returned from ' his visit, to Australia ami Now Zealand to moot a violent attack on the part of Sir Wni. Joynson-Hieks. j Speaking at the National Church' League, the Home Secretary accused the Bishop of filling the Diocese of London with men of disloyal doctrines. (Cries of "throw him out of the church! That's the best thing to do with him.") Sir Wm. Joynson-Hicks: "No, no. I don't want hard words against His Lordship; but I want bishops to realise that wo have our rights as they have their's. Churchmen are asked to accept the new Prayer Book as a compromise for the sake of peace, but the bishops should give an assurance that the present revision is final. Thus far no assurance has been forthcoming. Let the bishops say the Reformation was the work of God's Church, and we will help them to keep peace."
