McKenzie, speaking at Nottingham, said : “Medldno is the most conservative and the most back* ward science. I doubt whether the average practitioner in England is nearly as efficient as the ordinary workman in any other branch of trade. His training is absolutely nil. lie builds up a large practice and thereafter has neither the time nor the inclination to read literature, fie is working by a rule of thumb, to the detriment of everybody. He has not the ghostliest idea of what influenza is, hut ] only snow one honest enough to say so.”
