TE KARAKA COURT
A sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held at Te Karaka this morning byMr. E. C. Levvey, S.M., the police being represented by Constable Greggan. Leslie Abbott, Alan Abbot and F. R. Skilton, who failed to appear, were each fined 20s and costs 10s 4d, for failing to provide rear vision mirrors on their motor lorries. Several other cases were adjourned to Gisborne. Judgment was given for plaintiffs in the following civil eases: Mrs. F. W. Price, v. J. Ruru, £1 10s 9d and 13s costs; C. Hill v. Hapa Stevens, £ls 9s lOd and costs £?, 13s 6d. Orders were made as under: J. W. Nisbett v. R. Hanna, immediate payment of £7 12s 2d, in default seven day's imprisonment; J. W. Nisbett v. Allen Curtis, £7 13s sd, or seven day!s imprisonment; H. I). Wright v. Whiti Jones, £29 3s, or 30 day's imprisonment; Newland Bros, v. Sam Pohi, £34 19s 7d, in default 30 day's imprisonment; Newland Bros. v. Sonny Sidney, £9 Bs, or 10 days' imprisonment; Farmers Union Trading Co. ; , Auckland, v. Wi Tani,_£4o 9s Bd, or 30 days' imprisonment.
