THE FREESIA MILK & ICE CREAM CO. To Those Interested in a Better Milk Supply. If there is one article of Mod which should be clean and -wholesome beyond dispute, it is Milk. The health of a whole community could be impaired by a dirty, contaminated supply of milk, and conversely, the cleaner the milk the more wholesome and healthy it becomes. It is a great pleasure to us to announce to the public that, just as the FREESIA PACTOEY has made available a clean and reliable Ice Cream Supply, it is now about to do the same with milk. On and\after Monday, March 28th. we shall be prepared to deliver to your home clean milk of the highest quality, jn bottles —bottled and sealed in the Freesia Factory. Though wo are of the opinion that all milk should be pas|;eu|ise,d (and wo could easily do this), nevertheless the bottled milk "will be so treated —at least until such time as there is a proved demand for pasteurisation. The most rigid supervision will be exercised over the milk from the time it is drawn. It will all be subjected to a'sediment test and nothing but strictly A grade milk will be supplied. Upon arrival at the Factory it will be received into a glass»lined tank in which it is chilled; by refrigerated brine being pnmpad through the water-jacket of the glasslined tank. It is then bottled, sealed and delivered to your home in a, very cold condition, being only a few degrees above freezing point when it leaves the factory, This chilling means that Freesia Bottled Milk Will Keep Nearly Twice as Lopg p Any You Have Yet Experienced. The chilling docs nothing to the milk, but merely prevents the multiplication of the bacteria, which multiplication takes place only between the temperatures of 60 and 120 degrees F. Only occasionally during the winter is the temperature of the atmosphere low enough to cool milk below fi,o degrees and then not until long after it is drawn. And so, as everyone knows, milk sours quickly in Gisborne. You will notice a vast difference in FEEESIA BOTTLED MILK which has been cooled and chilled as soon as possible. N.B.—-The Health Department regulations demand that all milk for household use be cooled as soon as drawn, but how many in are carrying out this regulatjLou? Cooling Costs Money. '■ I OUR. MOTTO IS "PURE AND KEPT PURE" and to safeguard the health of your family,, to the fullest extent commonse].!se demands that you buy the purest and cleanest milk obtainable, and that is FEEESIA BOTTLED MILK. 4 Ring 856 or advise us by post of your requirements , AND "WHEN YOU WOULD LIKE US TO SUPPLY YOUTHREEPENCE PER PINT will be the price of FEEESIA .Bottled Milk. The cost of chilling and bottling will be our contribution to thework of the Plunket Society amqng the babies and ehildren> for after all the children suffer most if milk is not clean. All business will lie done by the coupon system. Twenty-one coupons, each good for one pint, will be sold for 5/-. The 21st. coupon for one pint represents 5 per cent, discount on your cash outlay, and is worth having, for it means 5 per cent, on your money, not per annum, but every time you buy a card of coupons. At the outset only, a deposit of three coupons will be charged on each bottle required to supply the customer's order. Thereafter the empty bottle will be exchanged for a full one every morning, and coupons for the quantity of milk required must be placed under the. empty bottle. The deposit paid on the bottle or bottles will be refunded should the supply be. discontinued. * Now don't delay. Give us a ring and inaugurate-the cleaner, and more sanitary, healthier, and safer method of "obtaining your milk. Yours Faithfully, THE FREESIA MILK AND ICE CREAM CO,, , 22 DERBY STREET.
