GERMAN PATENTS

AIRSHIPS FOR BRITAIN £IOO,OOO CLAIM RAILS LONDON, Dec. 20. The German Luftfahrzug Co., before the! Anglo-German Tribunal, claimed £IOO.OOO from Vickers, Ltd., for patents, materials and. experience in respect of the pre-war construction of nonrigid airships. Herr JSngberditjg, an airship expert, gave evidence that England was far behind in airship experience before the war, and obtained most of her early experience by the purchase! of French and German patents, which were rarely of great value unless they were accompanied by informtion relating from experience. He contended that the agreement was cleverly drawn in favor of Vickers. He explained that the Germans atxandoued building non-rigid airships during the war, owing to the shortagge of rubber, and not bccau.se they were unsatisfactory. The U'ibnnal dismissed the claim, and awarddd Vickers £11,091 in compensation for a prepaid but undelivered airship, and struck out the German company's counter-claim for £6050 for royalties on airships which Vickers built from its patents.
