STANDARD OIL COMPANY GREAT CAPITAL ISSUE NEW YORK, Nov. 17. It is learned* to-day that tho Standard Oil Company of Nevv Jersey is expected to come into the market almost immediately to raise capital to tho amount of £40,000,000 or more. This will constitute one of the largest industrial financing operations on record. Plans have been under consideration for several months for tho withdrawal of the company’s seven per cent, preference shares and the issue of now debentures and ordinary shares. It is expectod that a big banking syndicate will be formed under the leadership of Messrs. Mor gnn and Co. to underwrite the new issue.
