WORLD’S TRADE
CENTRE OF GRAVITY SHIFTS. LONDON, November 8. The Secretariat of the League of. Nations has issued a copy of the volume prepared by the economic intelligence section of the League ori the trade of the world. This shows that the world’s trade in 1925 exceeded 1913 by 5 per cent., but that European trade is still over 10 per cent, below the pre-war level. North America, Asia, and Oceania have gained most, and the centre of gravity is clearlv shifting from the Atlantic to the Pacific. The position of Great Britain was rather less favorable in 1925 than in 1.924. though it would appear that she regained some lost ground in certain Latin American countries. The recent troubles in China affected 1 other countries to a much greater extent than Japan.
