Mr. G. R. Stoneham, a student at the Otago Medical School, has returned to Gisborne for the summer vacation. Mr. 11. B. Larkin, chairman of the Commonwealth Shipping Board, _ lias resigned, due it is understood, to difference's of opinion with other members of the board M Mr. W. H. Atack, of Wellington, manager of the New Zealand Press -Association, accompanied by Mrs. and Miss Atack, arrived in Gisborne last evening after a- visit to Waikareinoana, They proceed to Tauranga, Rotorua and Taupo on Friday morning. Mr. H. Seed has resigned his position on the Povertv Bay Cricket Association, and Mr. F. Bennett has been appointed in his place. The resignation was received hy the association last evening, and regret was expressed at the loss of a valued member.
