'FRISCO CHURCH BOMBED
THIRD TIME IN LESS THAN YEAR. SAN FRANCISCO, October 29. For the third time in less than a year, the Catholic Church of Saints Peter and Paul; in the North Beach section of the. city, was bombed early in the morning. No one was injured, although the explosion was far more violent than the two previous ones, according to Superior Father Create Trinchieri. The damage will exceed £6OO. The bomb, believed by police to have been composed of tightly-bound sticks of dynamite, was placed in the door-way of -the church, as on the two previous occasions. The huge nineteen-foot oak doors were 1 splintered bv the blast, which tore a , hole clear through the entry way to the i '. basement, shattering large slabs of I marble and blocks of concrete. i Windows in the neighbourhood were I broken by the concussion. I Plaster inside the church was cracked ■ and a number of ornaments were dashed ; to the floor. ! LIKE AN EARTHQUAKE. I Father Ricardo Do Martini, newlyordained priest, was sleeping in a room over the organ loft. Ho said he was awakened by the blast, which rocked the church as though it had been hit by an eartquake. Rushing to the window, the priest saw an automobile, speeding away. Detectives believe the bomb was set by the same fanatics who twice previously this year have attempted to wreck the church. One theory is that tlie outrages are the work of a group- of anti-Catholic anarchists, known to have existed in the N'nrtli Beach district lor the past 20 years. ■
