FUNDS FOR MATERNITY SCHEME (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received December 7, 3.30 p.m.) ROME, December 6. Cabinet decided to levy a progressive tax on bachelors between 25 and' 65 years, to provide funds for a national maternity and child welfare assistance scheme.
