A FAMOUS ARTIST (Received Dec. 6, 2 p.m.) ' LONDON, Dee. r>. The death is reported of Claude Monet, the artist. Monet was born in Paris in 1840. After two years n» a soldier in Africa ho studied art under Gdoyre, visiting England in 1870. His 'first notable work was executed in.' 1872, and his last in 1900.
