KAITARATAHI NOTES
(Herald Correspondent)
Tile organisers of the Kaitaratabi flower show rang down the curtain on Thursday night with a cabaret, 200 people assembling. This is a new feature of the flower show, which is apparently appreciated by the younger people of the district. The hall ''as nicely decorated and the flower exhibits were' tastefully displayed round the sides of the hall.
During the evening Mr. Geo. Clarke, in place of Mr. Tolerton, who was unavoidably absent, presented the trophies won during the day. Before presenting the prizes, Mr. Clarke congratulated the organisers on the efficient manner in which they had carried out their duties, and said it was very gratifying to know that their efforts had met 'with such success.
Mrs. D. Barry, of Gisborne, and her party, with Miss M. Robertson, took charge of llie games, and the result was mose gratifying. Mr. <T. Lucas was also in charge of oije of the side shows and did excellent service. Mr. Len Croswell had charge of the floor. There is no doubt that the annual Kaitaratabi flower show is an enterprise which deserves the support of the district, and it is gratifying to know that the efforts of the committee have this year met with such success.
