" People's Day " at the Otago Summer 'Show yesterday was spoilt by con tinuous heavy rain. The gate receipts showed a. decrease of £2OO on last year. The attendance was about 6COO. CHAMPIONSHIPS.

RAIN MARS EGMONT SHOW. (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, this day. 1 "People's Day" at the Egmont I show was marred by heavy rain show- j ers, but nevertheless there was a largo attendance. The pony classes for school children figured for the first time on the catalogue and at- I tracted largo entries and created much interest, being one of the features of the show. j Additional championships.—
