Now in her tenth year. Glentruin cannot be expected to do much more racing, and a lot may depend upon her showing ia the Feilding .Stakes next week, when she will have as opponents Lysnnder and Tamatete.

Limerick is booked for a. good spoil, to allow his injured foot to heal. Ho will not be taken in hand seriously until late in. the season, but if all goes well, lie may pay another visit in the autumn to Australia. Ho- has engagements in the St. Legors at Plemington and Ra'ndwick.

Battlement is likely to lie- seen in action at the Auckland New Year meeting. Ho has an engagement in the Great Northern Derby, but whether lie can compete with Commendation at tho weights remains to be seen. He is not short of stamina, as his Australian running demonstrated.

The Alison Cup race at tho Talcapuna meeting should bring out a good field, among whom Tresham is likely to attract some attention. Ilcccntly Tresham dead-heated with Eden Hall for seeond place in the Waikato Cup race, and since then he has shown improved form on 'tho tracks. A sensational incident marked tho running of the Mangcro Handicap at the Otahuhu trotting meeting. Shortly after tho start the driver of Manna was unseated, and the horse careered round the course dragging the sulky, which suffered considerable damage in the process.' Poaching tho straight ahead of the Held, Manna tripped and fell heavily, close to the rails, and lay stunned while the others swept out on the bend and round the obstruction. The maro regained her feet later, and appeared little damaged.
