PLAYER-WRITERS. NEW ENGLISH RULE. LONDON, Nov. 11. The Lawn Tennis Association is submitting to the annual meeting in December a new rule i'ia'bidJing i.a:fitour [layers writing pr'.'os reports or giving interviews for the same purpose in connection with tournaments, matches, ami competitions in which they are pthying. The proposal is encountering much opposition from player-writers like Wallis Meyers, just as Tilden and others condemned the rule when it was introduced initially in the United States. GISBORNE CLUB TOURNEY. The annual handicap tournament of the Gisborne Tennis Club will bo inaugurated to-morrow, and will proceed throughout the following three weeks.
