VISITS INDIAN FARMS SEEING IS BELIEVING CALCUTTA, Nov. 18. The Viceroy and Lady Irwin, in pursuance of their policy of studying the lives of the agriculturists, visited Karnnl, and wore taken by the De-puty-Commissioner to the villages, where they were introduced as English tourists interested in Indian village life. They saw a sitting of the court to which representations are made by villagers, and they witnessed a demonstration of the use of agricultural implements. They also inspected the most menial quarters and the poorest homesteads, talking with the inmates. Only when they were leaving did the DeputyCommissioner tell the astonished and delighted villagers that the visitors were none other than the Viceroy and Ladv Irwin. •
