SUPREME COURT SENTENCES (Per Press Association.) NKAV PLYMOUTH, this day. In the Supreme Court the. Chief dustier sentenced Charles William Hull, for making.false document,* at Stratford, to 12 months’ probation; Henry Ernest Ferguson and Samuel Leo, for .forgery and uttering a cheque at Paten, to two year:-;’ probation. The jury returned a verdict', of not guilty in Ihe case in which .Joseph. Signal! was charged with being an .accomplice in the theft of a large sum of money at Paten, belonging to an old man, Pasmussen, who had .buried il in the garden. WELLINGTON. this day. Prisoners were sentenced in the. Supreme, Court by Mr. Justice Alpevs today is follows : —Timi Dili, for housebreaking and theft, two charges, two years’ hard labor: Phillip vScovringe, 47, married man with nine children, incest, three years’ hard labor; Horace Clifford Alton, theft of £ll2 from a hotel licensee, Leslie Traill, 12 months’ hard labor.
“MENACE TO COMMUNITY’’ HAMILTON, this day. Haldane James Orr, a middle-aged man, was sentenced to one year’s gaol with hard labor by Justices in* the Police Court this morning on a charge of using indecent language towards two young hoys, to whom he admitted male ing an improper suggestion. The bench inflicted the maximum penalty on accused, who had been in similar trouble before, saying lie was a menace to the community.
