FIRE BRIGADE STRIKE
BRISBANE MEN OUT (Received Nov. 25. 10 a.m.) BRISBANE, Nov. 25. Members of the Fire Brigade struck in pursuance of tho decision reached yesterday. The Fire Board is calling for volunteers, and is confident of meeting n satisfactory response. A cable yesterday stated that members of thei Brisbane Metropolitan Fire Brigade threatened to strike unless outstation moil received the same concessions as those applying to men m tho metropolitan area.
WORK RESUMED CONFERENCE TO BE HELD (Received November 25, 11 a.in.) BRISBANE, November 25. In connection with the firemen’s strike, the Board of Trade, at the men's request, called a, compulsory conference of the parties for Monday, conditional on the men resuming work immediately, which they agreed to do. There were no fire calls during the day.
